Her expertise in creating meaningful connections and compelling narratives, combined with her personal experience of navigating perimenopause while balancing a demanding career and family life, uniquely positions her to lead This is The Pause’s vision of empowering women through knowledge and community support.
This is The Pause was born from personal experience. When accomplished leader in education, Liz Foster and former educator turned marketing professional Nat Melville experienced the challenges of perimenopause while managing demanding careers, they joined forces to create this pioneering platform, addressing a critical gap in women’s health education and support.
Their journey: from running school corridors in high heels while experiencing hot flushes to managing debilitating brain fog that challenged their professional confidence reflects the struggles many women face. After receiving the commonplace “perhaps try some antidepressants” advice from well-meaning GPs, they decided it was time for change.
What began as a personal vision has grown into a comprehensive education and support hub that brings together leading healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based care and education. Through innovative symposiums and educational programmes, we are addressing the critical need for integrated, holistic support that contributes to both individual wellbeing and broader societal understanding.
